Lessons from Afghanistan
This panel came together to discuss the LSE Public Policy Review special issue on Afghanistan: Long War, Forgotten Peace. This publication explores lessons that can be drawn from the fall of the government in Kabul. With pieces by scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds, the issue reflects on why the US decided to leave, what this may mean for the Western alliance system, consequences for women’s rights, the geopolitical fall out, international law, development and the economics of peace.
